From industrial Use to Creative Impulse

Das EU-Projekt SECOND CHANCE beschäftigt sich mit der Entwicklung von ehemals industriell genutzten Brachflächen, die mit Unterstützung von Kunst und Kultur revitalisiert werden sollen. Ziel ist, für das jeweilige Gebiet neue Nutzungsformen zu identifizieren, im europäischen Kontext verallgemeinerbare Nutzungskonzepte und Finanzierungsinstrumente zu erarbeiten und erste Umsetzungsschritte zu entwickeln, die dann auf andere europäische Städte übertragbar sind. Die Strahlkraft von Kunst und Kultur soll dabei die Ansiedlung von Wirtschaftsbetrieben und eine vielseitige Nutzung durch alle Bevölkerungsschichten fördern.

SECOND CHANCE wird dafür innovative und integrierte Handlungsansätze für die Revitalisierung zentrumsnaher Industriebrachen demonstrieren.

Zehn Partner aus vier Ländern sind am Projekt SECOND CHANCE beteiligt. Das sind neben Nürnberg die Städte Leipzig, Ljubljana, Krakau und Venedig.

Second Chance
From industrial Use to Creative Impulse

SECOND CHANCE is a project of the European Union which deals with the development of former industrially used areas that are intended to be revitalized with art and culture. The target of the project is to find new ways of usage in a European context, to acquire new funding and to conceptualize the first steps, which can also be used in other European cities. The radiance of art and culture is therefore supposed to attract enterprises and to benefit versatile opportunities for all population stratums.

Hence, SECOND CHANCE will demonstrate innovative and interdisciplinary approaches for the revitalization of urban industrial areas.

There are ten partners from four countries which take part in the project SECOND CHANCE: Nuremberg, Leipzig, Ljubljana, Krakow and Venice.
